Comments in Mediaportal
In the expanded view of each media item, you will see the Comments field below the summary and set of blue hyperlinks. Commenting on an item allows you to add a context or a relevant note about your work progresses. For example, you can leave comments such as, “This article will be relevant for our campaign next month” or “This is great publicity – proves that all the team’s hard work has paid off”.
How to Comment on an item?
To comment on an item, expand the Comments area by clicking on the downward arrow beside it. You can type in your comment in the empty field and then finally hit ‘enter’ on your keyboard. Your comment will then be displayed along with your name and the date stamp of when the comment was created.
If you wish to edit your comment, you can click on the pencil icon on the upper right corner of your comment. You can also delete your comment by clicking on the ‘X’ button beside the pencil icon.
All the comments you have added will be visible to all other Mediaportal users in your organization, only when they have their comment permission enabled.
Can I include my comments in Reports and Exports?
Options whether to include comments are available when creating a report or when exporting media items. Sometimes you might wish to include these comments to add extra context to your report, but sometimes you might want to exclude these. For example, if the Media Team in your organisation uses Comments to manage your workflow you might not want to include these in a report to the C-Suite.
You will find the reports toolbar down the left-hand side of your screen when inside the Mediaportal Report Builder. Here you can tick the box for ‘Include comments’ to include comments on the selected media items for your report. You can check out this post to learn more about Report Builder.
When exporting media items to an Excel file, the pop-up menu gives you the option to include the comments on the media items you wish to export. Click on this link to learn more about Excel Exports.
Can I add comments using the Isentia Mobile App?
The Isentia Mobile app allows you to conveniently add comments with its user-friendly features, as well as receive notifications when your colleagues comment on an item. For more information, you can read this article about Comments in the mobile app.
Why can’t I see the Comments section?
This could be related to the permissions on your Mediaportal login. Get in touch with your Account Management Team so they can review your permissions.
