This page provides an overview of two key features designed to enhance your experience when interacting with your media content: Related Coverage and Trending Feeds.  Related Coverage makes it easier than ever to view similar media items within your account, and Trending Feeds allows you to be notified of significant increases in coverage levels, within any of the Feeds you have setup.

Please note, the availability of the below features is dependent on inclusions within your Isentia agreement.

Related Coverage

When browsing your media content, Related Coverage allows you to quickly and easily access content similar to the media item that you viewing. This feature utilises ‘entities’ to identify and show you related media coverage within your account.

Here is how to view Related Coverage:

  1. Select the item card you wish to view
  2. Expand the item card using the drop arrow to display any entities that have been detected
  3. Select one of these entities to view similar coverage from within your account

Related coverage will be shown within a new tab, and from here you can action these related media items as needed. Once you have finished viewing the related content, you can simply close the Related Coverage tab by clicking the ‘x’.

Trending Feeds with email notifications

Whilst active the ‘Trending’ feature allows you to identify significant increases in the volume of coverage within any of your Feeds. This can help you stay on top of those topics that are generating a higher than expected level of content.

Here is how the ‘Trending’ feature works:

  • A Feed will start trending when it registers a significant increase in the amount of new coverage delivered to an individual Feed, compared to usual volumes.
  • Once a Feed starts “trending” a trending icon (shown below) will display next to the Feeds tab on the left-hand side of Mediaportal.
  • When you view the Feeds page the Trending Feed will be displayed in the ‘Trending Now’ column

If more than one Feed is experiencing unusual volumes, the Feed with the most recently detected increase will be shown in the Trending Now column,, whilst additional trending feeds will be shown in their usual spot with an indication of how long ago it first started “trending”.

You’ll see the ‘Trending’ notifications – if any Feeds are trending – when you log into your account. You can also choose to be notified of any significant increases via email, by activating email notifications within each Feed. These email notifications can help you stay informed on the go, and as each alert is based on a specific Feed you have greater control over which topics you are receiving alerts for. Instructions on how to set up email alerts are detailed below and more information on how to set up Feeds can be found here.

Please note, this ‘Trending’ feature will be automatically enabled for any Feeds that you create but can be turned off by switching off the Unusual Trends option in the settings of each Feed.

Setting up Trending Alerts

These notifications will alert you via email when a Feed starts to see a significant increase in content volumes compared to normal.

When setting up a new Feed, simply click the ‘Send me emails’ box to activate email notifications. When delivered to your inbox, the email alert will contain a link to your account and will also identify which of your Feeds is trending. Please note the email alert will be sent to the address linked to the account the Feed is set up in.

You can edit the setup of an existing Feed (to start sending email notifications), via the settings found in the ellipsis icon at the top of a Feed. You can also choose to stop receiving these email notifications by unticking the ‘Send me emails’ box.
