The sentiment score gives you an instant insight into the tone of an individual media item and provides either a positive, negative, or neutral score depending on the language being used.
The sentiment score is also verifiable and can be changed by users in your organisation. Assigning sentiment to a piece of content always involves some element of value judgment, so if you decide that the sentiment of an item is different to the sentiment badge shown on the media clip, you can change the sentiment by choosing the appropriate score.
Note: If it has not been possible to provide a sentiment score, the sentiment score will be shown as “Not scored”
Each media item will display the relevant keywords that have been tagged against your organisation’s monitoring briefs to give you greater certainty and understanding of why that particular item has been delivered to your account.
When you view a media item in full item view, accompanying text will be displayed to provide you with additional detail for that media item. The text here is slightly different for each media type:
- Print media items will display the full article so you can easily read the article within the Isentia platform.
- Online media items will display the first paragraph of the media item (click through to the original item to view the full text),
- Broadcast items will display the automated transcript generated with your media item.
Item history details
Found at the bottom of the full item view, the item history details help you understand the history of a media item inside the Isentia platform with the new item history details.
Broadcast media items
TV and radio media items display additional tools and options to give you greater control over your broadcast content.
Please note some features and functionalities detailed below are only available to Isenita platform users in the following regions: Australia and New Zealand.
Media Player & playback tools
Media player
The embedded media player in the full item view lets you stream broadcast content directly from within the Isentia platform and includes additional playback tools to help you quickly and easily understand your broadcast media items.
Playback tools
Integrated playback tools allow you to easily interact with your broadcast media items and quickly understand what information is included in an individual radio or TV item:
- Highlighted keywords (1) – Important keywords are highlighted and identifiable to make it even easier to determine why a broadcast item is relevant to you.
- Live-text mode (2): You can easily see where the clip is up to and follow along as your broadcast item plays, as the text in your transcript is emphasised according to the part of the clip being played.
- Interactive transcripts (3): The automated transcript’s text, including your highlighted keywords, can be selected to jump quickly to the relevant point in the media clip.
- Launch in new tab (4) – Access the media player page for the related broadcast media items.
- Share (5) – Easily share broadcast content as a link copied to your clipboard. With tools set a custom start point for the clips you share.
- Download tools (6) – Additional tools to engage with your broadcast clip, including instantly downloading your media item as a file, creating a custom edited clip, or ordering a professionally trimmed clip or transcript from our studio team.
Playing beyond tagged media items
By default, when you play a broadcast clip, you will stream the segment of the broadcast item relevant to your monitoring keywords. You also have the option to access the media content for up to five minutes on either side of your “tagged” media item to understand the full context of a discussion, story, or segment.
Note: If your “tagged” media item is at the start or end of a program or show, is a standalone clip, or there are copyright restrictions on providing additional content, then the “play beyond” feature may not be available.
Play next/previous
Within the media player, there are embedded tools to easily play the next or previous chronological media item, so you can access additional media coverage that may not have been delivered to your account as no relevant keywords were mentioned.
Note: If your “tagged” media item is a standalone clip, at the start or end of a program or show, or if viewing additional clips has copyright implications, the play next/previous options will not be displayed.
Download tools
The integrated download tools allow you to easily engage with your broadcast clip and access and create custom files that can be downloaded to your device.
Selecting the download icon on the full item view will show several options:
- Original Clip – Instantly download your “tagged” item as either an mp3 or mp4 file.
- Edit Clip – Create a custom clip with the custom broadcast item tool.
- Order Clip – Order your broadcast item as a professionally trimmed clip from our studio team.
- Transcript Clip – Will order a professionally-produced transcript of your chosen media item.
Note: Professionally edited or transcribed clips may incur additional fees. If you have any questions about these broadcast options, please contact your account management team.
Media abstract
Get straight to the important details of your radio or TV clips with the addition of our innovative media abstract. This abstract uses machine learning to automatically summarise and distill each of your automated transcripts into its key elements: the who, what, when, where, and why.
If a media abstract is larger than 225 characters, use the View full media abstract option to open the full extract.
Note: Some radio and TV items may not require a media abstract. This is usually due to an inability to determine a topic or story from the automated transcript or when the original story is already shorter than any abstract would be.
Sharing broadcast items
Like other media items in the Isentia platform, you can share broadcast content using the Share function shown on the item card.
Selecting Share will generate a link to the media player page, which you can use to easily share access to your broadcast content.
Select Copy link to add the link to your clipboard, and share it with other team members using your preferred sharing method.
Share broadcast links with a custom start time.
Use the Start at option to set a custom start time for your share link. You can manually add a start time into the option shown or stream the broadcast clip in the full item view, and when you pause the clip, the start time will be automatically populated.
Media player page
You’ll open the media player page by accessing broadcast content via a shared link. The page can also be accessed through various parts of your Isentia service, including manually built coverage reports and the recurring reports and notifications generated from the Isentia platform.
From the media player page, you can interact with your broadcast content in the same way as in the Isentia platform, including unlimited streaming of broadcast clips, playing the media content on either side of your “tagged” clip, or downloading your media item using either the instant download feature or the editable download tool to create a custom edited clip.
Additional tools are integrated into the media player page when viewing broadcast content to make engaging with your broadcast coverage easier.
The instant download tool is embedded in the media player on the player page. Any viewer of a broadcast item can instantly download the related broadcast clip as a file to their device.
When using the instant download feature, you will download the pre-adjusted or “tagged” media item segment that contains your relevant keyword in either an MP3 or MP4 format. If you wish to customise the duration of your clip, you can use the custom broadcast tool to select a start and end time.
Creating custom broadcast items
You can create custom versions of your broadcast clip from both the full item view in the Isentia platform and the media player page. These custom clips start and end at the times of your choosing and can be downloaded as a file or shared as a link.
To create a custom broadcast file:
- Open the custom broadcast tool using either the Download option on the media player page or the Download > Edit clip option in the full item view.
- Set your custom start and end time using the manual input or the scroller to drag and drop your desired start and end time.
- Select either Copy link or Download to create your custom broadcast item.
Creating custom broadcast files
Create a custom broadcast file that can be saved to your device and shared as an email attachment.
When downloading an edited clip, larger files may take longer to generate so please allow extra time when creating and downloading clips with a longer duration.
Create custom broadcast links
Using the custom broadcast tool, you can create custom shareable links to your broadcast coverage that start and end when needed.
Once the link has been copied, when you share it with recipients, the media item they view will start and end at the times you’ve chosen. This is a great way to share custom clips without creating, downloading, and attaching custom broadcast files.
