This article contains an overview of the settings page in the Isentia platform, including how to edit your profile details, manage the notifications you receive and link your account to third-party accounts and platforms.

Using the settings page in the Isentia platform, you can manage and update your account, including updating your personal details, email address, and regional preferences, and also link your account to third-party platforms such as the Australian Financial Review (AFR), and authenticating your account to allow the monitoring of social platforms Facebook and Instagram.

Profile details

Your settings page allows you to manage your profile details and update your first and last names, and your job title. These details will appear in any communications that come from Isentia and ensure the correct details are displayed in the correct places.

To update your profile input the required details and select Save details to finalise any changes.

Note: Your username is created when your account is set up by our team. So, if you want to update your username, please reach out to your account management team for assistance.

Updating your email address

You can manage your profile details in your settings page and update the email address linked to your Isentia account.

The email address linked to your account is the one we use to deliver any notifications, alerts, or recurring reports to you, so it’s important to make sure we have the correct email address linked to your account. That way, we can ensure you don’t miss out on any important updates.

To update your email address, input your new email address, enter your current passwords and select Update email to finalise your update.

Managing Notifications

From your settings page, easily identify and manage active notifications that you receive from the Isentia platform.

Preferred Format

This option allows you to customise the amount of information displayed for print and broadcast media items included in the notifications you receive.

  • Headline & Summary – Displays the headline of each media item, the first paragraph of print articles, and the first 140 characters of an automated transcript for broadcast items.
  • Headline & Full Text – Displays the headline of each media item and the full article text or full automated transcript for print and broadcast media items, respectively.

Active Notifications

In the notification tool, you’ll be able to see any notifications set up for any of the topics in your account and also any notifications that any of your team members have set up and added your account details as a recipient.

Note: Your options to manage notifications will depend on whether you created the notification or were added by a team member.

Notifications you have been added to

If a notification shows an ‘x’ next to the notification name, this notification has been set up by a team member who has added you as a recipient. By selecting the ‘x’, you will remove yourself from the notification, and if you need to start receiving the notification again, you will need to contact the team member who owns the notification and ask them to re-add you.

Activating & deactivating notifications

If a notification shows the Manage option, you can activate or deactivate that notification by selecting the Manage option and selecting the checkbox shown in the Manage notification window.

Note: If you deactivate a notification, you or any other team members will no longer receive it.

Managing Recipients

Managing notifications gives you control over who receives that notification. Access the recipient management by selecting Manage on the notification and selecting the Manage recipients option shown. When managing recipients, you can:

  • Remove current recipients from a notification by selecting the ‘x’ next to their name.
  • You can add recipients by manually inputting their email addresses or by selecting their name from the list of users on your team who have an Isentia account.

Linking third-party subscriptions

Due to individual copyright agreements, to provide full access to media items from selected publishers, a direct active subscription with that publisher is required, which can then be linked to your Isentia account.

Third-party subscriptions can easily be linked to your Isentia account by selecting Connect and inputting the email address linked to your subscription. If an active subscription is confirmed, you’ll have full access to all relevant media items.

Currently, the Australian Financial Review (AFR) is the only publisher that requires this direct subscription to be linked to the Isentia platform.

Authenticating social accounts

To ensure we can continue to provide the most comprehensive social media monitoring solution, we require users to authenticate their social media accounts within the Isentia platform so that we can continue to monitor Facebook and Instagram content.

To authenticate your social media accounts, select Connect and follow the steps to complete the authentication process. Once you’ve linked your social accounts, your settings page will display the platforms you have linked.

Regional settings

By making sure your regional settings are accurate to your current time zone, you will ensure that the Isentia platform displays the correct currency for related advertising space rate (ASR) values and delivers your reports and notifications at the correct time.

To update your regional settings, select the accurate timezone and currency from the dropdown options, and then select Save Settings to finalise your changes.
